Slow Cooked Cinnamon Apples
Ingredients:
5 apples (cored and sliced but I left on the peels for added nutrition!)
1/4 cup brown sugar
additional 2 tbsp. of sweetener (white sugar, stevia, etc)
1/2 cup orange or apple juice
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions:
1.) Core, slice and place apples in crockpot.
2.) Mix all remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour over apples making sure to coat each slice well.
3.) Cook on high (2 hours) or low (4-5 hours) stirring mixture halfway through cooking process.
4.) Can be served as a side dish or as a dessert with a scoop of frozen yogurt on top!
